Belgium, Flemish Commission for Research Integrity, ENRIO President
Bert Seghers (°1988) coordinates the Flemish Commission for Research Integrity, the second-advice body for research integrity complaints in Flanders. He is currently President of ENRIO, and has attended ENRIO meetings since 2014. He represents Belgium in ERA Action #18 on Ethics and Integrity and contributes to revisions of the ERA Living Guidelines for Responsible use of Generative AI in Research. In 2026, he leads the Focus Track of the World Conference on Research Integrity in Vancouver, working towards a Global Reporting Standard for AI Disclosure in Research, an initiative ambassadored by the International Science Council, the Committee On Publication Ethics, STM and the Global Young Academy. In the past, Bert has coordinated the Young Academy of Belgium (Flanders) and co-established the Belgian Reproducibility Network.
